Jupiter is our East Coast Editor for HIghwire Daze and is also a great progressive rock musician and a cool drummer. This makes for Jupiter his second release. I did this interview with him recently befor the new CD release party. Even this email interview rocks.

How did Echo And Art your newest release come to be?

Jupiter: The album title Echo and Art came about because I was thinking that they are both always around, but often un noticed or taken for granted. I feel they are part of our surroundings.

How many songs made the new album Echo And Art?

Jupiter: I composed 9 instrumental pieces for this new CD Echo And Art. All of them driven by electronic and acoustic drums although there is 1 piece called Puzzle that is just piano. Originally there were 2-3 morebut they weren't in context with the rest. So perhaps they will make it to the next CD.

Are there any special guest on this new recording Echo And Art?

Jupiter: Jordan Rudess is my very special guest on this release doing synthesizer leads! Jordan Rudess is the keyboardist for Dream Theater and really understands what mood and sounds I need to make my music complete. Also Jordan Rudess is my good friend. Taso my other friend is playing some synth as well on the title track Echo And Art.

What are song of the new songs like?

Jupiter: Well for instance the song called Burning Sands I was thinking of our coalition troops in Baghdad and musically wanted to create a desert and far - eastern feel. The song A Circle Of Rhyhm is really just that. Then on the song Celestial Antiphony there this cool classical instrumentation over modern day synthesizers! Thats the last piece on the cd.

When do you expect this new CD Echo And Aart to get released?

Can you perform any of the new songs from Echo And Art live?

Jupiter: I am very anxious to get this in to the clubs, even if I have to do solo spots with my sequenzers. Or, till I find the right bandmates to play with.

How long did it take to do this whole new project CD Echo And Art?

Jupiter: I started writing this new music in 1999 - present. Then I took the train to New York where Jordan put his tracks down in 3 days at his studio this past late April 2003. Jordan Rudess is quite amazing. Jordan rudess can improvise after hearing the music like once!

What is instore for us the listener music wise from this new CD Echo And Art?

Jupiter: The sound I want to create is a synthesizer based soundscape. Some influences you may hear are Synergy, Brian Eno, The Crystal Method ect. I think you will find that this recording has longer pieces and more instruments. I feel i've expanded on a lot of my favorite ideas that were on the first CD, Jupiter Project with more concise ideas.

Jupiter has worked really hard since Jupiter Project. His craft is more toned and orchestral now. Get both CD's if possable and see what is behind this progressive rockster.
